Three children of contrasting ability are mentored to explain 52-6=.
Each is challenged to record their thinking strategy as a video on their iPad for later assessment (using SeeSaw). They work with a dedicated TA. Then they share their subtraction strategies, breaking down their methodology using a white board as a visual aid. They are encouraged to see that there are different perspectives on the same problem and different processes to get to a solution.
