Taking Risks

We capture how teachers are settling children as they embed routines in the early stages of the school year.

We see a number of examples of children being encouraged to jump off blocks or apparatus. The context is that teachers have noticed that the children are generally risk-averse and lack resiliency. As a result of this shared observation, risk-taking has been added to the planning for both nursery and reception children.
